In this workshop you will create a unique custom designed copper clay screw top container.


Skills taught*
*Making a unique, original, wearable vessel large enough to store small items
*Forming seamless threaded closures out of metal clay
*Greenware construction with Art Clay Copper
*How to move and manipulate your wet clay without disturbing your textures
*Invisible seams and how to create continuous textures on the round
*Tricks and tips of simplifying construction
*Sculpting with Art Clay Copper
*Creating your own textures and forms
*Wet sanding vs dry sanding
*Carbon firing for ACC
*Post firing finishing

We are so luck to have Wanaree in our fair city.  This is going to be amaaaaazing!!!!!

Sign-ups will not be available for this workshop until April 13th for NMA members and April 14 for non-members.

Just west of Centinela avenue off Washington boulevard
(not Washington place, you cannot get to my house from Washington place.)
I live on a street that dead-ends at a park.  If you get directions from the internet and they are not directing you to a house that is on a dead end street, then that’s not my house.

When: 

10:00AM - 6:00PM

both days

Lunch:
Bring your own lunch.
I will have available for all;  

Coffee, tea, water, cups, plates, utensils and napkins. 
There is a full kitchen if you need to heat or refrigerate, but space is limited.
There is a grill 1/4 of a block from the studio, if you can't bring your own lunch.

Tools at the Studio for General use:
You’re welcome to bring your own tools, but the following are available in limited numbers:

Flex shaft
Drill bits
Disc Cutter
Doming Block
Two soldering stations - with supplies
One Pickle pot - with supplies
Steel Bench Block
Silversmith shears to cut sheet – The ones in the studio are serrated.
Small selection of various hammers
Flaring tool for the tube rivets
Various Metal Clay supplies; rollers, cards, surfaces, and olive oil
Tweezers, Sandpaper, and Other general supplies
If you want to know about a specific tool, just ask.
