March Meeting Wrap-Up

Demo:
Marcia gave us all the twists and turns of flexible clay. This is great for textured bezels and very thin snakes. This was a very inspiring demo. I am going to try it just as soon as I get some FRESH glycerin. You can get a kit with everything you need for Cool Tools for just $14.95. When you go to the Cool Tools Web site, you can watch a video on how to do it.

Resources:

960 clay is a mix of silver clay and sterling clay. Go to Celie's blog to learn all about it.

Joint Files are smooth on the top and bottom, only the edges file. Can be very useful for bezels or other tight places. Try paige 82 of the Rio Grande Catalog.

Eric "the tool man" is at the PCC swap meet the first Sunday of every month. This is a good way to get inexpensive tools.

Dues:
Your first meeting is completely free, so come check us out and see what you think,  If you want to join, dues are $25.00 by cash or check and $26.00 by credit card, for the whole year, you really can't beat that.

Workshops this year:
Michelle Ross - Torch Fired Enamels
Carl Stanley - Clasps and Mechanics
Wanaree Tanner - Threaded Keepsake Vessel
Ruth Shapiro - Etching Copper
Chris Brooks - Stone Setting

 Coming next month!!!

"Pools of Glass"
*with Chris Brooks*

In this demo Chris is going to share with us all that she knows about creating glass cabochons.  She will show us the process from start to finish, but there will not be any actual firing at the meeting.  There just isn't time, but she will explain the firing and annealing process.  I don't need to tell most of you that Chris gives an amazingly informative demo and there will be a handout.

See you next time!!!
