Metal Smithing Tools!!"
*by Paige Litfin

Wow what a presentation! Paige focused on gathering all the tools you really need for Silversmithing without spending a lot of money. Everyone loved the I Beam Bench Block. Using ultra suede to protect your metal while hammering was another cool tip. Michelle mentioned that you can get a Bone Folder from Michaels that works great for stone setting. Still another cleaver idea was to use alphabet stamps to create a texture. Finally there was the baseball bat for a bracelet mandrel. Thank you Paige for taking us back to the basics.

Dues:
It is a new year so everyone's dues are due. Your first meeting is completely free, so come check us out and see what you think,  If you want to join, dues are $25.00 by cash or check for the whole year, you really can't beat that.

Resources:

Are your clay shapers sometimes too big? Jewelry Artists Supply has a small set called “Doodlestix.

So you need more jars? Silicon jars are kinda cool. Jewelry artists supply has a small and an extra large silicon jar.
Amazon has a wide selection of silicon jars. The one called “Silicone 22ml Large Nonstick Dab Container Jar Food Grade” looks like a nice size for clay storage.

Want to get ready for making scratch foam textures?
I like the soft grip Embossing & stylus set on Amazon.Co

Art Clay has a syringe holder. (mini demo at the March meeting)
