Torches!!"
*by Michelle Ross*
As usual Michelle’s demo was outstanding. She talked about different kinds of torches and their pro’s and con’s. And she demonstrated so you could see the difference. Michelle covered not just the cost to purchase but the cost of using the torch. Anything you could possibly want to know from how to fill a butane torch to where to get refills for tanks was discussed. There was even a demonstration on lighting and a discussion on the various types of solder picks, along with tips on buying and marking solder. Wow! Thank you Michelle.

Announcements:
Announcements:
Fiesta of Gems is June 25th (10-6) and 26th (10-5). This is the Culver City Rock and Mineral Club Show.
We need volunteers to chat with people or to demonstrate. Please email Paige with the time that you are available.
We also need to have examples of your work (with at least some metal Clay) for the display. Please bring your pieces to the June meeting.
Home Sweet Home,
Paige will be moving in 90 days (or less). So while she is looking for a house the rest of us need to look for a facility that will serve the needs of the Guild. Here is what you need to know/find out:
1. Currently we don't have event insurance which is why we have the extensive waivers. So we need to know what would be expected of us in terms of insurance. We can easily get event insurance.
2. We currently have 24 members, but the max we have ever had at a meeting is 17.We need a space with tables and chairs, lets say enough for 24.
3.We sometimes use torches and kilns.
4. A place with an easily accessible sink with running water.
5. Enough electrical to run 8 to 10 flex shafts.
6. And of course the location! Street address, phone number and contact person.
After obtaining this information, please call or email Michelle so that she can track all possibilities.
Workshops:
Michelle Ross - Advanced Metalsmithing Ring on July 16th.
Workshop Survey
Workshop Survey
If you were not at the meeting you can still complete the workshop survey. This is important to determine what should be taught by whom. Simply email Michelle for a copy of the survey and then mail it back or bring to the June meeting.
Coming next month!!!
