"I'm Melting"
*by Betsy Manheimer*

Betsy laboring under great heat both before and after lighting the torch, did a super "Im Melting" demonstration. She showed how to season a crucible along with water and broom casting. The demonstration also included materials, set up and pour. Her handout is very helpful and has additional information. So if you like happy surprises and have some scrap metal, this is definitely something to consider. Thank you Betsy!

A big thank you to Michelle for being our hostess.

Dues:
You can pay your dues by cash or check. It is only $25 for the whole year!

Librarian:
The Library has lots of books now. To borrow, email Stephanie and request up to 3 books for the next meeting. You will need to have a $10 check made out to New Metal Artists. The loans are for one month unless no one else has requested the book.

Announcements:
The Culver City Rock and Mineral Club Gem Show will be Saturday and Sunday July 8 & 9. Supporting the show will replace the July meeting. Please bring your display piece or two to the June 11 meeting in a bag or container labeled with your name and the materials. Also put your initials on the piece.
I you have the pendant from Michelle's Beginning Metal Fabrication Workshop in April of last year or the ring from Marcia's Metal Clay Textured Ring with fire in place stone or the ring from the Silver Clay Ring with Stone that Chris taught, please bring them to the June meeting along with your favorite piece. We need pieces that far ahead to label them and arrange the display. After the display is set up, the case is locked for security, so no last minute additions are possible.
At the June meeting we will also have a sign up sheet for doing a demonstration or being a greeter at the booth, so think about a good time slot for you. The show is 10-6 on Saturday and 10-5 on Sunday.

We will be doing the Bead Society Show on a Sunday October 22nd. Please mark your calendars and plan to help out.

Design Challenge Details:
There will be 3 categories with cash prizes. Paige will post more information in the future. Meanwhile, start planning this next masterpiece.
